"Youth nuisance" is a specific area currently identified by our police as an area to focus on.  They have decided to tackle underage drinking and anti social behaviour in Castle Gardens on Friday evenings. They also decided to proactively patrol the park and talk to the young people, confiscate alcohol and search people where appropriate.

PCSO Stephen Siggers and others approached me for help with fund-raising for bicycles to be used in the park and around the town.  My husband and I donated and this was quickly followed by a full donation for one bike from Stort Blinds and further donations for a second bike from Dr D.W.R. Wright MBE, FCIS, david lee estate agents, Coopers of Stortford, Ce The Jeweller, The Waterlounge, Bishop’s Stortford Mummy Meetups, Frank the local ice-cream man,  MSH Cleaning Solutions, T Barker Garden and Tree Services and ARC Virtu@l.

I am personally very pleased with the level of support and the police interest in this area of town especially considering that £70,000 worth of enhancement work to the play area was undertaken this year.

Residents seem very keen to see their PC or PCSO in and around the town.

The police are now focusing on raising money for a new quad bike. The said that “With financial support, the new Quad bike (entire project c. £13,000) along with the new push bikes can help Bishops Stortford be one of the flagship towns of East Herts with the most diverse police methods.”
